Historically, this city was a place of worship of the Great Descending God. Today, it is a tourist hotspot where holidaymakers can enjoy a relaxing day at the beach and is the perfect spot for a honeymoon in Mexico.

The best time to visit Tulum is between November and December, as the hurricane season is over and the humidity is at an all-time low. Some exciting adventures to include on your Tulum Honeymoon include exploring the Mayan ruins, visiting a cenote, visiting an adventure park, and more.

Cancun Honeymoon in Mexico

The second honeymoon in Mexico destination on my list is the beautiful city of Cancun which borders the Caribbean Sea. Cancun is most known for its beaches with sparkling turquoise water, powder-white soft sand, and bright coral reefs.

The Cancun coastline spans an impressive 6,200 miles. This makes it the perfect spot for an all inclusive honeymoon in Mexico. Cancun has two main areas – El Centro and Zona Hotelera. Both of these sections have their own unique features to offer.

With the beach being the city’s main attraction, some of the watersports you can indulge in are diving, snorkeling in cenotes, jet skiing, and parasailing. If you’re looking for a glimpse of the culture during your Cancun honeymoon, you can visit a few archeological sites in the area, including El Meco, Coba, and Muyil.

Mexico City Honeymooon

This is the capital of Mexico and is one of the largest cities in North America, with a population of over 20 million people. Whilst in Mexico City, you will be able to see the different features that make up the core of the Mexican Republic.

Mexico City is home to many fundamental structures, such as the Cathedral, Templo Mayor, Reforma Avenue, and the Angel of Independence. A popular tourist spot in Mexico City is the Bosque de Chapultepec, where you can visit the Chapultepec Castle. Aside from these key buildings, the city has much to offer in the form of art galleries, museums, theaters, and entertainment centers.

Honeymoon in Zihuatanejo

The beautiful city of Zihuatanejo or Zihua was a fishing village until the early 1970s, when the Ixtapa was built. Some of the attractions of this city are the cobblestone streets, artisan studios, and restaurants.

Although the city is now a major tourist attraction, especially with many cruise ships visiting, it still strives to maintain its small-town vibe. This makes it the perfect destination for couples looking for some time away from the traditional coastal party towns. Zihua is the perfect place for those seeking a touch of culture and community.

Its famous Fishermen’s Passage is where fishermen bring their fresh catch to sell to the town residents every morning. The city is home to four beaches – Playa Municipal, Playa Madera, Playa La Ropa, and Las Gatas.

Honeymoon in Acapulco

The fifth getaway destination on our list is the city of Acapulco, a beach resort city that borders the Sierra Madre del Sur mountains. This city is known as the “Riviera of Mexico” as its a massive tourist attraction because of its comfortable weather, luxurious hotels, and marvelous beaches.

Acapulco is home to one of the best harbors on Mexico’s Pacific coast and used to be a main depot for the Spanish colonial fleet. The city is best known for its active nightlife. Some of the main activities that you can indulge in are the live music of Zocalo, nightclubs in Punta Diamante, and more. If the hustle and bustle of city life is of interest to you, then a honeymoon in Acapulco is perfect for you!

Cabo Honeymoon

The final destination on our list of romantic getaways in Mexico is Cabo San Lucas. It is a charming resort city in the south of Mexico’s Baja California peninsula. Cabo San Lucas has a large marina and is home to the Sea of Cortez and the Pacific Ocean.

Cabo’s stunning turquoise waters are home to various sea creatures, including whale sharks. Whilst on one of the exclusive sea tours at Cabo, you can indulge in whale watching, scuba diving, and snorkeling.

Aside from the beaches, visitors have a range of luxurious restaurants, golf courses, and hotels to spend their time in. One of the most popular Cabo Honeymoon activities is El Arco (also known as The Arch or Land’s End). It is a rock formation that is situated where the Sea of Cortez and the Pacific Ocean meets. The Arch is around three stories tall and can be reached whilst hiking inland or through a relaxing boat ride.
