13 Human Body Books for Kids: Amazing anatomy books for children

I’ve been doing a lot of work lately helping to home school one of my Nanny Kids who is fascinated by the human body and how it works. We have a plethora of books at their house and have taken tons of books out of the library on the subject. Here is a list of the best human body books for kids that we love and hope you do too.

When it comes to get books that cover every organ and system, Human Body! is the best. There are plenty of large images that are labeled and it breaks down everything. While this book is for older kids, I still can’t say enough about the diagrams and ease of reading.

Human Body Books for Kids: My First Human Body Book

This book is appropriately titled and I really recommend My First Human Body Book for younger children and those just starting to learn about the body. The illitrations are fun, and it teaches about all the major systems in the body. It also answers the question, “What is a Hiccup,” and “Where is my DNA?”

Grossology and You: Really Gross Things About Your Body

Human Body Books for Kids:

Granted, I spend time with young kids all the time as a Nanny, but I think this book is hilarious, but also has a hook that gets kids interested in learning. Grossology and You talks about farts, guts, blood, rashes, and brains. Besides a title that will make kids laugh it’s chalked full of good information that kids will walk away with.

The Magic School Bus Inside the Human Body

Human Body Books for Kids:

I grew up with The Magic School Bus wishing I’d get Ms. Frizzle for a teacher. The Magic School Bus Inside the Human Body is great fun and has tons of information on how the digestive system works. We’ve read this book more times than I can count and it’s great to pair with the episode of the cartoon as well!

This is the best book for learning about the heart. Not only did little man love it, I learned so much about how the heart works too. The book is packed with great illustrations and your kids will walk away knowing how the heart works and be able to name all the different parts.

Ultimate Bodypedia: An Amazing Inside-Out Tour of the Human Body

I love everything National Geographic Kids does, and this book is no exception. If your child is a visual learner this would be a great human body book for them. Covering all the systems of the human body Body-Pedia has plenty of easy science experiments, wacky facts, and some health tips thrown in too.

The Fantastic Body: What Makes You Tick & How You Get Sick

This book was written by a pediatrician which I love! The science is real, but taken to ta kid’s level with gross stories and facts about everything in the human body. While the book is beautifully illustrated what I love most about it are the hands on projects that demonstrate the functions of the body.
