The water here is especially calm, making it a great spot for first-time snorkelers. Just be aware that access and parking are limited, so plan to get there early. The free Breeze shuttle makes several stops around Siesta Key and makes it easy to get around.

Prefer to sit back and enjoy the ride? A dolphin sunset cruise is a perfect, low-effort way to end the day—and trust me, kids love spotting a dolphin jumping in the wake.
Visit Mote Marine Laboratory & Aquarium
Located just a short drive from Siesta Key, Mote Marine Laboratory is a must-visit. Touch tanks, shark habitats, sea turtles, and manatees—what more could a curious kid want?

Siesta Key Village is the hub of the island. It’s super walkable and packed with cute shops, casual restaurants, and plenty of places to grab ice cream. My favorites for families include The Cottage for casual bites and Big Olaf Creamery for some of the best homemade ice cream around.
You can also hop on the free Siesta Key Breeze Trolley, which is a fun little adventure in itself!
Get Adventurous with Mini Golf or Ziplining
If your crew is up for a little off-island excitement, head to Smugglers Cove Adventure Golf for pirate-themed mini golf with caves, waterfalls, and live alligators you can feed. Yes, really!
Or, if your kids are older, check out TreeUmph! Adventure Course in Bradenton for zip lines and rope bridges up in the treetops. It’s a great way to add some adrenaline to your otherwise chill beach trip.
