I’ve been a Nanny for a young boy with Autism who loves space for years. Together we’ve read so many books about space I’ve lost count. So it’s easy to say that I know a lot of books about space for kids.
I’ve put together this list of 15 space books from funny fiction to books with amazing photos and stories about real life people who have contributed to space travel and exploration.

Gail Gibbons writes some of the most amazing books about exploring Earth and beyond, and The Moon Book is no different. Learn about the phases for the moon, it’s exploration and the people who’ve explored it. This is by far my favorite of the books about space for kids on this list.

This books has some of the best space visuals I’ve ever seen! The photos are absolutely spectacular and will leave your children (and you) in complete awe of the universe. If you have a child who isn’t into story books with drawing this is the book for them.

I didn’t know that an 11 year old girl named Pluto until I read this book. The real life story of Venetia Burney and how a young girl from the United Kingdom named a little planet that was discovered in Massachusetts.
